A terms checkbox asks every shopper to agree to your terms before checkout. The cart's checkout button waits until the box is ticked, and the cart remembers the tick for the rest of the visit.

## Add the checkbox

1. On **Cart settings**, open **General**.
2. Turn on **Terms checkbox**.
3. Change **Consent text**, the sentence beside the box. It reads **I agree to the terms and conditions** until you change it.
4. Set **Link to your terms**. Leave it blank to use your store's Terms of service page, or enter a path such as `/pages/terms` or a full link.
5. Change **Link text**, the words that open the link. It reads **Read them** until you change it.

6. Select **Save**.

## Move it

The checkbox sits above the trust badges and the checkout button. To place it elsewhere in the checkout area, see [Reorder the checkout area](https://help.attravo.com/drawer-cart/articles/reorder-the-checkout-area.md).

> [!NOTE]
> The checkbox holds back the cart's checkout button and the wallet buttons in the cart. A shopper who reaches checkout another way, such as **Buy it now** on a product page, never sees it, so leave **Keep Buy it now on product pages** off if every shopper must tick the box. See [Choose how the cart opens](https://help.attravo.com/drawer-cart/articles/choose-how-the-cart-opens.md).
