Conflicts with other apps or themes

Fix a quiz your theme restyles, a theme without app sections, a page builder that hides it, or a link that won't open it.

Product Quiz Maker draws the quiz in its own space on your pages, so it works alongside most themes and apps. When something clashes, it's usually one of these.

Your theme restyles the quiz

A theme's styles for the whole page, such as for every button or heading, can reach into the quiz.

  1. Open the quiz, select Style, and set the font and colors you want. See Match your quiz to your brand.
  2. On Pro, add CSS under Custom code, starting every selector with .qz-root so it wins over the theme. See Add custom CSS and HTML.

Your theme has no app sections

Quiz sections, such as Quizz Inline and Quizz Dedicated Page, need a theme that supports app blocks, as every Online Store 2.0 theme does. On an older theme, use the app embeds instead: the floating chat button, the menu link popup, or your own button with the Quizz Core Script. See Open a quiz from your own button.

A page builder hides the quiz

Pages made with a page builder app may not show app sections. Turn on the Quizz Core Script app embed, then add a button with the quiz's ID through the builder's HTML or custom code element. The quiz opens in a popup over the page.

Some themes handle links that end in a # themselves, such as for smooth scrolling. Give the link or button the class quizz-trigger, or add its selector to Custom CSS selector (advanced) in the Quizz Link Popup settings. See Open the quiz from a menu link.

Express checkouts lose the quiz

Some payment apps rebuild the cart for express checkouts, which drops the quiz's mark from the order. Offer a discount code with the results and turn on the attribution pixel, so those orders still count. See How quiz sales are counted.

Ad blockers

Some ad blockers stop the attribution pixel. Quiz orders still count from Shopify's own order record, since the pixel is only a backup.
